Walnut Banana Protein Smoothie

This guilt free smoothie is packed with protein, vitamins, antioxidants, potassium, essential fats and fibre - awesome for breakfast or a delicious snack.
150ml cups unsweetened almond milk (add more if needed)
1/3 cup walnuts (see below for recipe to lightly roast your walnuts)
1 frozen banana (or 1 fresh banana and 1 cup ice cubes)
1 Tbsp maple syrup or tspn stevia (optional)
Once walnuts have cooled, place all ingredients (except maple syrup or stevia) in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and add maple syrup or stevia if desired. Pour mixture into a tall glass, top with a few extra chopped walnuts and sprinkle on top with a pinch of cinnamon if you like. Enjoy!
How to roast walnuts
Preheat oven to 180° C and spread walnuts onto a pan. Roast for approx 10 to 12 minutes, until just fragrant. Once you can smell them, remove from oven and allow to cool.
