B Complex vitamins are coenzymes involved in energy production. Elderly people’s vitamin B intake should be monitored as these nutrients become less well absorbed by the body with age.

The B group consists of individual B vitamins which are:

  • Vitamin B 1 (Thiamine)
  • Vitamin B 2 (Riboflavin)
  • Vitamin B 3 (Niacin / Niacinamide / Nicotinic Acid)
  • Vitamin B 5 (Pantothenic Acid)
  • Vitamin B 6 (Pyridoxine)
  • Vitamin B 12 (Cyanocobalamin)
