Echinacea

Echinacea is derived from the Greek word for hedgehog, being inspired by the appearance of the flower’s central cone.  Visibly known and readily recognised as the purple coneflower, is native to North America and today is one of the world’s most important therapeutic herbs. Major clinical research has shown that Echinacea has the ability to raise the body’s resistance to bacterial and viral infections by stimulating the immune system.  It is most effective when one feels a cold etc coming on.

Echinacea angustifolia and Echinacea purpurea are the two forms of this herb. The most effective form of Echinacea is the dry root powder, the efficacy of which is far greater in tablet form than any active ingredients derived from the liquid form.
