Leading Nutritionist, Phil Sheldon, decided that there had to be a better, more natural way to supplement the diet. He was disappointed by results from research into multi-vitamin and mineral pills and discovered that research indicated the absorbency of most pills is as low as 10%, the remaining 90% being undigested. With this in mind, he developed his first all natural supplement powder called Boost, an amazing nutritional superfood containing 38 ingredients which are the source of over 200 vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids plus trace elements.
Initially, Phil prescribed and made Boost exclusively for his patients. It was not available to the general public, but a strong demand developed. The reputation of Boost was spread by word-of-mouth and sales increased dramatically at which time Phil recognised the need to increase the range by introducing another two formulas, FibreDigest and Ultra Bone & Joint, again with amazing success.
Phil continued to be inspired by the number of people who made contact to let him know how extremely helpful, and in some cases life changing, his products were. Interest continued to increase as callers contacted Phil to enquire about the products during his weekly radio segments. In March 2007, Optimal Essentials was formed and in October of the same year the first products became commercially available. They were released in National Pharmacy stores, selected health food stores and on-line.
There are now eight formulas in the Optimal Essentials range with more in the developmental stages. The future for Phil’s natural superfood supplements is very bright. These products offer a viable alternative to synthetic supplements using additives, fillers and colourings.
